Systemic Approach

The whole is more than the sum of the parts

Jscinteractivo’s consultancy approach is sustained by systems thinking. It implies recognizing patterns of organization that bring systems into being, and business are one of them. So we intend to connect the dots towards a worldview where business organizations can be grasped as reflexive, conversational and interdependent beings rather than ‘machines’. Thereby inspired by The Systems View of Life we state some of our principles as follows:

01 / From the parts to the whole
The central characteristic of systems thinking is the shift of perspective from the parts to the whole. Silo thinking is an illness suffered by lots of business organizations very often. It hampers the chance of seeing the big picture of particular issues. Jscinteractivo aims to understand and show the whole picture in order to facilitate the fixing of particular organizational problems.

02 / From the specific to the transdisciplinary
Consequently, systems thinking is intrinsically transdisciplinary since it combines different disciplines in addressing systemic solutions that go further. However, every solution needs each of them. For Jscinteractivo’s approach organizational dynamics are the outcome of ecobiopsychosocial interconnected facts.

03 / From the objects to the relations
Systems thinking surpasses “objectivity” to emphasizing on the subjects that gives shape to ‘inter-being relationships’. By dint of meaningful conversations Jscinteractivo recognizes perceptions, emotions and meanings that convey coherency between the being, the doing, and the saying of business organizations.

04 / From measuring to mapping
The Cartesian (mechanistic/reductionist) worldview takes for granted that things need to be measured and weighed. Yet relationships cannot be measured and weighed, they need to be mapped. Jscinteractivo maps the web of organizational relationships through deep listening, observation, analysis, and reflection as the cornerstone for improving interdependences.

05 / From quantities to qualities
Mapping relationships implies a qualitative approach. Therefore, systems thinking entails a shift from quantities to qualities. Quantities fall short of meaning without an integral view. Jscinteractivo acknowledges that consciously mapping the qualities of inter-organizational relationships makes sense to the numbers.

06 / From strategy to dynamic
Classical management theory adapted a substantial amount of mechanistic/warlike terms and insights brought from a combination of both military and engineering principles. “Strategy” was one of those. from an organic view Jscinteractivo prefers to incorporate the term “dynamic” in approaching the emergence of insights and movements from business ecosystems.

07 / From economics to ecology
Ecology and economics cannot be separated. They share the same root, The Oikos (Eco): The Household, our planet, our lives. Economics as a human approach for managing our home resources must honor ecology. From the systems view of life Jscinteractivo fosters a generative economy that conveys the essential principle of circularity entailed in the cycles of Gaia.
